Build & Scale HR Infrastructure for a Growing Multi-State Organization
Location: Danvers, MA (Hybrid)
Travel: Quarterly travel (approximately 4–6 trips per year) to other office locations

We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead this next phase of organizational development.
The Opportunity
This is a true builder role.
Reporting directly to ownership, the Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership while overseeing all HR functions across multiple states. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable systems that support performance, compliance, culture, and continued expansion.
A major near-term priority for this role is leading the company-wide implementation and optimization of a new HRIS platform — including system selection (if applicable), rollout, change management, process redesign, training, and long-term administration.
This role currently oversees the full HR function with administrative support and has the opportunity to build additional team infrastructure as the organization grows.
What You Will Own
- Strategic HR partnership with ownership and senior leadership
- Multi-state employment law compliance and risk mitigation
- Workforce planning and full-cycle recruiting strategy
- Leadership coaching and performance management system design
- Payroll oversight and HRIS administration
- Company-wide HRIS implementation and long-term optimization
- 401(k) administration and retirement plan oversight
- Compensation strategy, commission plan design, and employment agreements
- Benefits administration and vendor management
- Employee relations matters handled with sound judgment and discretion
- Development of scalable HR processes that reduce turnover, improve accountability, and support growth beyond 100+ employees
What We’re Looking For
- 7–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience scaling organizations and building HR infrastructure
- Strong multi-state employment law expertise
- Experience overseeing payroll, compensation structures, and retirement plans
- Proven experience leading or implementing an HRIS rollout
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence ownership and senior leaders
- Comfort operating both strategically and hands-on
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, or related field
